The Coloring Museum

We're reintroducing an oldie-but-goodie creative activity with a familiar concept that was forbidden as a child – COLORING ON THE WALLS. The Coloring Museum (TCM) brings experiential art, tourism, and entertainment/nightlife to the corridor of our neighborhood. We’re coloring for a purpose – using the power of the crayon to improve one’s quality of life by helping to decrease mental illnesses, such as anxiety, stress, and depression.

It’s the only interactive art museum where you can color black-and-white murals composed by community artists. Every inch of the museum is painted white and outlined in black to give an illusion of a 2D effect in our 3D world. By commissioning muralists and graffiti artists, TCM provides a creative outlet and fosters a connection between visitors and local art. Coloring the murals with washable crayons and markers adds a playful touch and invites you to reconnect with your inner child. This creative activity allows you to stand still in a constantly moving world, transporting you to a space of tranquility and joy. It's a unique way to unwind and reprieve from everyday life's hustle and bustle.

Social Mission

We are coloring for a purpose – improving mental health and quality of life. Why coloring? Our coloring brand is an inexpensive and attainable way to help those who struggle with mental illness. According to NAMI.org, 1 in 5 U.S. adults experience mental illness yearly. Unfortunately, 11% of U.S. adults with mental illness had no insurance coverage in 2020 and could not receive professional help. And 1 in 6 U.S. youth ages 6-17 experience a mental health disorder yearly. Suicide is the 12th leading cause of death in the U.S., but it’s the 2nd leading cause of death among people 10-14 of age and the 3rd leading cause of death among those who are 15-24 of age in the U.S. MayoClinicHealthSystem.org, states coloring is a healthy way to relieve stress. It calms the brain and helps your body relax, decreasing feelings of depression and anxiety. Beaumont.org, says coloring can further develop your creative thought process without the conscious effort to be creative. Finally, it can help you regain focus on day-to-day tasks, clearing your mind of clutter and improving your quality of life. Coloring can help you become more mindful.
