NATURALLY ILLUSTRATED AGENCY

Naturally ILLustrated Agency, LLC provides artwork with an original cultural vibes that is designed specifically for your brand. We are a group of Black women creatives who celebrate culture by integrating your business’s core values, personality, and audience into our style of work, elevating your brand identity, and making it relatable to consumers.

NATURALLY ILLUSTRATED

Naturally ILLustrated started as a single coloring book that shared the visual journal of Sherrie Savage’s natural hair journey 2016, and it has since evolved into much more than illustrations about black hair.

Now, Naturally ILL exists as a series of coloring books and other merchandise that show the diversity of Black culture, promoting self-love and encouraging individuality in people’s daily lives. With the ability to color every item, Naturally ILL is a platform for people to share their unique vision through the illustrations and colors that represent them to the world. Through its various creations that can be worn, displayed, and used, Naturally ILL relates to all members of the Black community no matter their age, as representation matters in all stages of life.

ILL EMOJIS

ILL Emojis, the sister brand of Naturally ILL, is a series of creative, relatable characters that encourage self-love and inspire black kids to be true to themselves. Black children can see the faces of themselves and their friends in the ILL Emojis; see the uniqueness in each emoji and discover the uniqueness in themselves. By coloring the storytelling in the ILL Emoji books, young students can develop their emotional awareness and self-esteem. They can share their unique style through color, and understand that individualism is at the core of Naturally ILL – that they are what is natural and so ILL about it. The ILL Emojis products are the perfect solution for parents/caretakers, teachers, and mentors to give young people the opportunity to develop creative thinking skills, boost self-expression, and build their self-esteem so that they grow up knowing that they can do anything.

SHERRIE SAVAGE, THE ILLustrator

Born, raised, and now proudly owning a home in Detroit, I’ve been drawing the world around me since I was 3 years old. Spending my years drawing and doing arts and crafts, I developed my own unique style of character animation, filigree, graffiti and doodling into what is now Naturally ILLustrated®, a series of products celebrating black culture and hair, and the Naturally ILL Agency, a contracting agency that connects (Black) female artists of color to professional opportunities and each other.

My art is a representation of my city and my culture as I was growing up. I wanted to show everyone the joy, creativity, and love in it, especially to young Black kids. While I was earning my BFA at the College for Creative Studies, I started teaching after-school programs through outreach organizations to show kids that art can help them process their emotions and realize their own, beautiful uniqueness. The designs and characters of Naturally ILLustrated are positive representations of their lives – their culture and the people they know, being shown as a celebration of individuality.

Doodling through the years, Naturally ILL and I have grown and evolved. I’ve been able to share my designs through many different platforms – radio interviews on 105.9 with Mason and Coco, a podcast with MotorCity Woman and Ever Butter, as well as two highlights in Blac magazine. As Naturally ILL and I continue to grow, I’m spreading as much love, joy, and creativity through art as I can to support, inspire and celebrate everyone in the black community.
